Some of the best celebrated sorts of red wine is the Zinfandel. This variety of red grape is endemic in California and known for its fruity taste with touches of raspberry aroma. It is grown in warm locations and in bunches. This variety ripens early; yet, uneven pattern in ripening takes place. This is one disadvantage because the reaping will be on a staggered basis instead of a single harvesting for all the fruits. Also, because it grows in a tight bundle, there are cases that it yields to rot. One trait also of this Zinfandel wine is being “hot” in the roof of the mouth because of its strong alcoholic content but it was now tamed by winemakers using new technology. Zinfandel has this special characteristic also that retained its terrior or the characteristic that it inherits due to the geographics where it is growned and the winemakers own distinct way of wine production.
